As a teacher I believe it is essential to try and stay up to date with the new teaching strategies and new technologies that are available for use. While teaching it is important to further your learning as if you were still a student. You can never know to much about a certain subject, because it is always worth while to know more. Throughout my teaching I have come across different readings that I thought were very helpful not only while dealing with technology but also for everyday use.

This particular reading I found very helpful because it sometimes can become more complicated to work with technology than people may realize. Throughout the different workshops and learning all the steps it is possible that you may miss a certain step and total disaster can occur. However you should always make sure that you have a back up plan. While teaching it is important to not give up and get frustrated. The students look up to you as a role model and if they see you not understanding something it may freak them out before the even begin to learn it. So it is imperative for the teacher to keep calm and everything will work out. I believe I will use this particular reading while in my classroom because it helps to remind me of the small things that can sometimes be forgotten. It is important to try everything yourself before you put it out there or else you may be destined to fail.

TechLearning is a great way to keep up on your technology skills. There are so many different articles available for you to read. The one I found most interesting was having to do with the top 10 technologies used throughout schools today. The reading gives you a well thorough description about each technology and how it is used in schools. I think it is vital for teachers to keep up with technology because it is the future of this country and you never know how fast it will keep moving and you never want to get to far behind. I want to be able to include technology whenever I can throughout my classroom however I think it is also important to keep old strategies for learning as well because not all students have the same learning capabilities. I thought the most interesting technology being used is fingerprint recognition. This is such a great way for the students to feel safe throughout their school because they will know that no one is able to get through unless they are a part of that class. Now more than ever I believe students safety is at question wondering how safe they truly are inside their schools.
